Bruno hits London!

Bruno

Last time we saw Bruno up close he was duping designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac's security and crashing his catwalk at Paris Fashion Week. And for the premiere of the Bruno movie in London last night Sacha Baron Cohen made a similarly bold fashion statement. He marched into Leicester Square wearing a bearskin hat and leather Beefeater-style hot-pants and added a bit of Bruno controversy with a speech that said he wanted to makeover Gordon Brown and dissed Pixie Geldof as a D-lister. Luckily, that was before the Geldof girl turned up (that pink hair dye take longer than expected, Pixie?) alongside her sister Peaches, wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress styled to look like a wedding dress with a veil and garland of flowers, and her ‘girlfriend' LA stylist Sandra S in matching get-up. (Trying to upstage Bruno will never work...) But back to Bruno – and his new-found status as a fashion icon. ‘Ze Clarkson Wertzen, Frederick Fut zburger and, you know, ze Buntenbreck,' he said when asked who his favourite British designers were. OK... and the movie itself? Hilarious and outlandish but the jury's still out. As Henry Holland tweeted: ‘Trying to decide if the film was good or just offensive and uncomfortable.' We're with you. And we couldn't help but feel it's a shame there wasn't more of Bruno's Fashion Week antics. The Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Stella McCartney section has been cut. But the original catwalk crashing at Agatha Ruiz de la Prada in Milan lives up to expectations... Check out who was at last night's premiere below.

  • Am I the only one who doesn't get it? I understand the satire behind finding out how people really act when confronted with hideousness, but how much further can he take it? Having read and listened to the comments on this film it seems as if there's not much more he CAN do. Only caught Borat by accident, don't fancy the same thing happening with this one!! Sorry, if that makes me sound a prude but I'd rather watch a good rom-com any day (or even spend the afternoon cleaning the bathroom!)

  • I can't WAIT to see this film, Borat was hilarious and I think this is gona be even better. I think it's a great insight into people's natural reactions and shows what a talent Baron - Cohen is.
Beverley Knight looks cool, but is she looking a bit too thin now? A bit 'lollipop head' for someone who used to be curvy.
God I can't stand Jenny Frost, she looks a disgrace!!
Isla Fisher looks cool & beautiful I love her pale skin.

  • Actually I can't wait to see this too!! I was roaring at the cinema the other night, watching the trailer :-)
Didn't like Borat at all - but this looks ACE!

  • No misteltoe you are not the only one that doesn't get it. I'm at a total loss with this type of humour. I find both Borat & Ali G a bit repulsive to be honest.
Also totally agree with the cleaning the bathroom V watching this film. Now where are my marigolds?
