Francesca Sibylla Augusta Francesca Sibylla Augusta

Coutts London Jewellery week was blinging up London last week, but in amongst the gold and the pearls, we reckon we found a real gem: design duo Zinzi and Ursula of Francesca Sibylla Augusta (otherwise known as FSA). The pair, who studied fashion together at Central Saint Martins, bonded through their joint-loves of design and sparkles during a post-graduation trip to Tokyo and launched their luxury fashion jewellery brand in 2008. And though you might think it's not exactly the best time to be launching a new business in fashion, the girls have tapped into the zeitgeist with their bold, quirky, luxurious pieces – offering two levels of purchase. The brand is broken up into two collections – Fashion (with prices starting at £240 for 18ct yellow gold plate on 925 silver earrings); and Fine (with prices peaking at £6,465 for an 18ct yellow gold and yellow diamond Pig ring). ‘We have researched a collection of glamorous women who have somehow inspired us,' the pair told us when we caught up with them at the Rising Gems exhibition at Liberty of London last week. ‘The lines are becoming harsher, think more geometric shapes. There is a new animal coming into play, but I am not saying anything more about that just yet!' Perhaps a magpie would be suitable?!

FSA is stocked in Johnny Rocket London and Kabiri at Selfridges. See www.FSAugusta.co.uk to view the ranges.
