Lacroix lives on!

12 June 2009

We spent last night gripped in serious corset/knicker/bra envy at last night's private view for ‘Undercover - The Evolution of Underwear', the new show at London's Fashion and Textile Museum. Sipping champers with the likes of Zandra Rhodes (loved her trademark pink sparkly glasses and fuchsia stripper shoes), we were surrounded by models wearing incredible designs by British fashion students, and got chatting to burlesque sensation Immodesty Blaize. As if the undie envy wasn't bad enough, we promptly fell in love with Immodesty's gorgeous vintage Lacroix frock, which looked custom made but, she explained, ‘fitted like a glove the first time I put it on - that's what Lacroix is famous for.' Good to see that, despite the struggles of the credit crunch, fashion fans like Immodesty are still flying the flag for a truly amazing couture house!
