John Galliano might have hand-picked Marion Cotillard as the star of Dior's short film The Lady Noire Affair and decked her out in Dior's finest pieces, but it sounds like the Oscar-winning actress is still unsure of her fast-becoming iconic fashion status. ‘I have to confess that fashion is a world I don't really know,' she's said of accompanying Galliano to New York's Met Ball last month. ‘I have to be interested in fashion, in a way, because it's a big part of an actor's life, but I'm not very good at talking about fashion.' But that's not to say Marion's not enjoying learning – and who wouldn't when they're learning from the best? ‘I really admire Galliano. He's a unique artist. He has always taken risks. His creativity is always alive.' And what of Kate Moss, who she hung out with until the early hours of the next morning at the Met Ball? ‘She has a strong personality. And she's British – I love the British. And the way she gives life to the character she is and everything she does... it's really something. It's not just about being pretty and wearing clothes for her. Giving your personality like that to the art of fashion is something I couldn't do.' Well, let's hope the supermodel gave Marion some tips. Something tells us she's going to need it. Mind you, probably not if she sticks with her Dior-approved wardrobe... [Blackbook]
