If there's one store drip-feeding the cool young things with a new fashion fix for the weekend, it's American Apparel. Purveyor of the tightest jersey tube dresses, encourager of the leotard and the one-stop shop for all your indie-geek accessories, American Apparel has now added what's set to be its next cult item – the ‘Library Tee'. From today, both in store and online, AA will be delving into the archive of the Los Angeles Public Library to find some of the most iconic snaps from LA's past and printing them full-bleed onto white tees. And when this one with a print from 1966 dropped on to our desks – depicting a group of youths on the Sunset Strip dispersing to avoid any police confrontation – the whole office cooed. Just how hot will this look with a pair of ripped-up jeans and mega black heels? Really hot. Not only are we big supporters of a classic-fit tee right now, but this season (as reported by Grazia a few weeks ago) it's all about something more artistic than a dodgy slogan or logo, so why not explore the library too? Check out http://www.lapl.org/. Or go straight to the main event at http://www.americanapparel.net/. £30.
