Tolula Adeyemi: from model to actress!

There aren't many models who successfully make the transition from catwalk to big screen (Naomi Campbell in Prisoner of Love we mean you...) but something tells us Tolula Adeyemi will be one of them. We've had a fashion crush on her ever since she walked sans shirt in the Vivienne Westwood show way back in September last year, and then she replaced Daisy Lowe to front the Hari campaign and pulled on a Pam Hogg catsuit for her LFW show just three months ago. But this morning – a little bleary eyed from last night's Glamour Women of the Year awards, where she had to stop herself blushing when her crush Dizzee Rascal invited her for a drink - we caught up with Tolula about her latest and most ambitious project: starring alongside Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson in movie Last Chance Harvey.

‘It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and a total dream come true,' she told us of working with the legends. ‘I was really surprised by how easy-going they were.' But how did the role come about? ‘Acting's always something I've wanted to do though, and though I'm still doing modelling jobs, I want acting to be my future. I was actually playing bass on Kylie's promo tour down when I got offered a part in Last Chance Harvey and had to leave, so it's definitely something I take seriously.' And whilst Tolula still finds casting directors discriminate against her when she's auditioning for film roles - ‘they're really surprised when you can actually act' - there are some advantages: she knows how to rock a serious red carpet dress. ‘I'm wearing a gorgeous Louis Vuitton dress for tonight's premiere. But I don't have a date yet and didn't quite pluck up the courage to ask anyone to accompany me last night!' So, Dizzee if you're listening get down to Leicester Square, like now...!
