Chanel is definitely having a moment right now. And what with the success of the mesmeric biopic Coco Avant Chanel, starring Audrey Tautou, the fabulous Cruise show in Venice, and the Cannes premiere of the latest film inspired by the fashion house – Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky – we can't get enough of all things Coco. So just think how fabulous it would have been to be in Moscow last week, where creative director Karl Lagerfeld showed his Paris-Moscow collection in the Russian capital for the first time since 1967. The collection is dedicated to the country that so fascinated Gabrielle Chanel with the wealth of its traditions, and was also the first time the designer had visited the capital. But besides booking himself in for a shoot with Naomi Campbell for V magazine on the side, it looks like he also found time to check out the eye candy, or lack thereof... 'I think the women are better than the men. I think if I were a woman here, I would be a lesbian.' Nice. But then, in a desperate attempt to save himself from flying, Campbell-propelled missiles (let's not forget her current beau is Russian real-estate mogul Vladislav Doronin) he quickly added: ‘I met only one very handsome man – that's the boyfriend of Naomi.
