WATCH Miuccia Prada talk stress, waders and the Flintstones

29 May 2009

While we always look forward to a Prada show with baited breath, it seems that Miuccia Prada herself isn't always so excited; ‘I have to do so many [shows]. Basically one every two months . . . Some days I hate the idea that I have to be creative,' she told CNN Asia, in her first sit down televised interview in 3 years, sitting in the vast space of The Transformer in Seoul. ‘The obligation of being creative every single day, every single hour of your life is such a nightmare that you would prefer to do anything else in your life but be creative because it's just . . . you have to answer so many questions and every five minutes you have to invent something new.' Although Mrs Prada keeps her stress to herself, preferring to express a good mood to those working around her. But where would we be without a new Prada fashion invention? She made turbans and crop tops fashionable, made us desire the highest of heels (even when models were falling in them), and then there are the AW '09 waders...'[They were] kind of fun. I also like the irony in my work. I don't like things that are obvious.' Clearly, but that's why we love it! So sorry Miuccia, but there will be no rest for your creativity yet! Watch the clips below to also hear Mrs P's reaction to one magazine describing her first collection as ‘the Jetsons meets the Flintstones'...
