Burberry brings a bit of London to NYC

Good old, Burberry. Last night they turned a little corner, well actually a rooftop, in New York into a little slice of London to celebrate ‘Burberry Day' in the city and see the fifty foot long logo on top of their new HQ lit up in the night sky. Even the distinctly British weather couldn't dampen the show (or spirits) as the sign shone through the mist and guests gathered under Burberry umbrellas to sip champagne. Burberry Creative Director Christopher Bailey took to the dance floor with Clare Danes and Molly Sims as new NYC resident Alexa Chung DJ-ed ‘Paint It Black' and Yorkshire boy and Burberry model George Craig's band One Night Only did a live set. Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively and Penn Badgley nibbled on mini shepherds pies on the rooftop of the New York Palace Hotel - the real life venue of Chuck Bass's apartment in the television series. Brit model Lily Donaldson wowed in her white Burberry dress but confessed to feeling obscenely tall in her heels and wearing smelly socks. ‘All the British boys wear smelly socks!' she laughed. (Not, Christopher Bailey, we think!) And the party didn't stop there. Burberry's cool kids - including Leigh Lezark and Rose McGowan, wearing the most gorgeous white tux - moved on to New York bars to celebrate late into the night. That's the British spirit girls. Now when is it our turn to party with the Burberry lot? Oh yeah, this London Fashion Week!
