Christopher Bailey has already brightened up London this week by announcing Burberry will show their S/S '10 show at London Fashion Week in September, so it seems only fair the creative director shows some love to New York too, we guess. He's just flown over to the States ready to celebrate NYC's Mayor Bloomberg's announcement that tomorrow, Thursday May 28, be named officially Burberry Day in the Big Apple! In honour of their new US headquarters at 444 Madison Avenue, designed by Bailey to mirror the 160,000 square foot global headquarters in London, the Burberry logo at the top of the iconic building will be officially switched on. The fifty foot symbol of all things British will light up the Manhattan skyline for the first time tomorrow evening, along with five other locations in New York, during an event held by Bailey and chief executive Angela Ahrendts. But if you can't wait make it to NYC yourself or wait to see the pictures, here's a sneaky peek at what it'll look like. Enjoy!
