Terry De Havilland reveals his design inspiration

22 May 2009

We all know that every good designer has a muse, but shoe designer Terry De Havilland has a grand total of five. Grazia caught up with him last night at the launch of his couture collection at Jalouse nightclub over a glass of scrummy strawberry punch, where he admitted he gets his inspiration from a wide range of fabulous people. ‘I've really got five muses instead of one,' Terry said. ‘Firstly my wife, my god daughter and model Joy Vieli (who we Style Hunted last week!), the wonderful Jodie Harsh, and the Broken Hearts DJs Amber and Nisha, who always look amazing.' And while the veteran designer - who is famous for dressing the feet of the seventies rock n roll set - clearly loves his muses, he revealed that there were two girls in particular who he thinks really do his shoes justice: ‘Kate Moss and Sienna Miller look sensational in my designs. I love them.' Terry was joined at the bash by fashion pals Pam Hogg and Brix Smith-Start who all hit the dance floor, while Jodie Harsh span the 80s inspired tunes.
