Secrecy surrounds Tom Ford’s movie plans

Tom Ford

The fashion industry has been waiting with bated breath to see what Tom Ford would do with his movie, A Single Manhis directorial debut, based on Christopher Isherwood's novel about a man who reflects on his life after losing his wife. Well, according to our contact in Cannes, the big reveal could be coming this year. But, in true Tom Ford style, things will be a bit different to the usual film release. The master of marketing won't be releasing any set pictures, information or clips until the film is well and truly ready. Indeed, the movie is so shrouded in secrecy that only a handful of people have seen it. Tom is apparently determined to treat it like a collection not a movie and is desperate to reveal it in the elegant way he sees fit, rather than risk the tit-bits circulating on the internet and ruining the big reveal. So all we know so far is that the cast is stellar – Julianne Moore, Colin Firth, Matthew Goode and Nicholas Hoult – oh, and that there were some scantily clad extras on set. As with all things Tom Ford turns his hand to, the film is bound to be brilliant.
