The London party scene's been quiet of late. And you wouldn't exactly expect Mickey Mouse to be the man to bring the fash pack out. But he did, luring models and designers alike to super-hip Start boutique in Shoreditch to celebrate the launch of the My Mickey Ears – a collection of mouse ears customised by people including Giles Deacon, Patsy Kensit and Daisy Lowe. Guests including boutique owner Brix Smith-Start, Charlotte Dellal, Jasmine Guinness and Ben Grimes nibbled on mini burgers and hotdogs, before having a go at making some ears. Luckily, a copy of this week's Grazia was hanging around so we got down to creating our own, which then became the pass-it-around accessory of the night. Even DJ Henry Holland wore the ears while spinning tunes that included The Klaxons, Britney Spears and, er, a song from The Lion King. Meanwhile, Mickey himself jetted in from Disneyland Resort Paris to make a special experience and the fashion crowd rushed to be photographed with him. First Barbie, now Mickey.. What's next? Donald Duck?!
The Mickey Ears are being auctioned online, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
