It's always a treat heading down to Christian Louboutin's London showroom. Rows of new red-soled shoes – think studs, leopard print and thigh-high boots for autumn, ladies – tea with the gorgeous girls and a quick cuddle with the resident bunny rabbit Pearl and dog Archie. (We reckon they are what make the Louboutin press team experts at running in heels!). But this visit we spied something extra-special: a mannequin, dressed in a custom-made dress by none other than Roland Mouret. The Louboutin model had previously worn that flowing Rodarte dress Keira Knightley wore to the premiere of Atonement oh so many years ago, but when the dress finally had to be returned, she was naked. Not having any of that, Roland – whom Christian has worked with for years – whipped up a dress, customised with drawings of all types of Louboutin shoes. So in one-off, custom-made Roland Mouret for Christian Louboutin, she must be the best-dressed, er, mannequin in London. How is that fair?
Look what we spied at Louboutin…
