Is Rihanna Vogue's next cover star?

You've got to hand it to Anna Wintour. She sure knows how to create a buzz. Rihanna made her first public appearance since Chris Brown's alleged assault at the Vogue sponsored Met Ball and stormed the stage with a duet alongside king of the front row, Kanye West. Marc Jacobs and the Olsen twins got down on the dance floor, Agyness Deyn was seen swapping numbers with her afterwards and Anna Wintour herself was overheard telling the singer how fabulous she was at one after-party. The Vogue Editor-in-Chief's tête-à-tête – and perhaps her comments last week explaining that since models don't sell on a cover anymore she's turning more to celebrities – have prompted fierce speculation that Rihanna might soon find herself on the front of the US fashion magazine. Now Anna's obsession with Adele we never really got (leggings and washed-out denim miniskirts, hello?), but the idea of Rihanna as a Vogue girl is something we're totally into. We have been watching her obsession with designer fashion ever since she stepped out in every catwalk look by Alexander Wang, one of those Balmain jackets, and started working her way through trends quicker than we could write about them, but perhaps a style lesson or two from la Wintour and friends can help Rihanna move away from fashion victim to become a pure fashion icon. About time too. Judging by that white bandeau top she wore yesterday... [NY Magazine]
