Lily Allen scores Chanel campaign!
Well, we guess it was only a matter of time... After all, Lily Allen steps out head-to-toe in the French brand so often and has enough 2.55 bags to rival Victoria Beckham's Birkin collection, she's practically a walking advert for Chanel already. But now it's official! Karl Lagerfeld has hand-picked the British singer as the next star of his Chanel handbag campaign. ‘She's fun,' he said of Lily, who he's shooting next week. And judging by the gushing that greeted Jerry Hall's cougar-style stint in a Chanel accessories catalogue, which has since seen her re-signed to Ford Models, we reckon it'll send Lily Allen's fashion status soaring... Ameliee - I know...Lily Allen just ruins the Chanel brand! Why didn't they pick someone classy, or use Keira Knightly still? Or someone who's a bit more unknown! Lily Allen is so obnoxious.
Lanvin - I think it's brilliant that Lily is fronting a Chanel campaign. She wears Chanel is a quirky way that makes it young and fun - so much more appealing than the cadaverous, gaunt and BORING Keira Knightly. Chanel are obviously hoping to appeal to a younger, more hip buyer - great choice!
issyp - Chanel is going down the plughole then. Keira Knightly is not gaunt! She's extremely feminine and delicate looking, unlike Lily Allen, who is a notorious ladette and not feminine at all.
Sophyosei - Keira Knightly is not boring!!! She is very graceful and elegant, something that try as Lily may, she will never be!
Lily Allen is actually a bit too big too be a Chanel model, and obviously anyone who supports her rather than Keira Knightly has weight insecurities!!

Zachyboi - Gaunt and boring?! Are you crazy?? Keira Knightley is one of the most beautiful women! And 95% of people (men and women) prefer Keira Knightly to Lily Allen. Lily Allen is too largely sized, and her mouth is like a sewer!
Saira - 'largely sized'?! 'bit too big'?! I might as well drag my fat behind and weight insecurities up a cliff and jump off now...
Lily Allen is charming(if a little bit drunk at times), button-nosed cute and unafraid - she deserves it.
GraziaNflakeNbubblebath - I have to agree with Amelie on this one - Lily Allen is not a fair representation of Chanel and all that Chanel encompasses. She is a lout who is not famous on her own merit, and who has had a plethora of boyfriends. This is not the type of inspirational role model Chanel should choose. Someone with class is needed for such a luxury fashion house.
youcancallmeal - I don't think Lilly Allen deserves this in the slightest. Yes she's cute, yes she can wear amazing clothes sometime and yes her music is good. But modelling for Chanel?? I don't think so. I don't find her particularly inspiring or aspirational and it wouldn't make me want to buy the brand if I saw her in a advert for them.
Give me Keira Knightley any day of the week!
fashionrat - ahhhh! why does everything have to be turned into a weight issue!! Who cares how much either of them weigh! Personally I love both girls, for their unique style and images, both so differnt yet both endearing in. I think Lily is quite funny she reminds me of myself when I was 20 so cheeky and just enjoying life - though in my case minus the couture!
NATALIE - God I cant hold it in - Lily must be a 10 - 12 at the most, thats not overweight! And no having this opinion doesnt mean I think Kiera is anorexic or mean that I have a serious weight issue myself either!!
NATALIE - From now on I just have to remember to stay as far away from Chanel as possible! What a sad state of affairs when someone with so little class and fashion sense goes from a New Look to a Chanel campaign. Lily Allen is obnoxious and unattractive in every way and usually looks like she gets dressed in the dark. Putting on classy, expensive clothes doesn't make you stylish. Karl Lagerfeld must be getting old...
