Acne’s party becomes Lanvin’s new ad campaign

Believe us or not, but fashion parties aren't always fun. Yes the idea and the pictures can look glamorous, more often than not there is free food and drink, but really sometimes we'd rather just be at home watching the telly. But there are some fashion brands that host parties that are not to be missed. Acne parties are almost legendary now for their atmosphere, company and dancing. And while we couldn't hot-foot it over to the Ritz in Paris last night for the launch of the latest issue of Acne Paper (the Erotica issue no less), Lanvin's Alber Elbaz did and he took full advantage of the party. Armed with a photographer – Andreas Larsson – and a host of male models, a clown and a size-28 burlesque performer, he used the party as the background to his A/W '09 advertising campaign. With guests including Erin O'Connor, Alistair Mackie (also Creative Director of the campaign), Acne's Johnny Johansson, Malcolm McClaren, Julie Verhoeven, Martine Sitbon and Kiera Chaplin, and hosted jointly by Acne Paper Editor-in-Chief, Thomas Persson and Camilla Al Fayed, the Ritz rocked and shook until 3am, when shoes were reclaimed and the crowd moved on to other venues in the city. So next time an Acne invite should end up in your mailbox, clear your diary and start planning your outfit and hangover immediately.
