Fashion-obsessed shoppers logged on to Topshop.com from 7am this morning to get their fill of the just-launched collection. But not everyone seems as Barbara Hulanicki enamoured as they (and we) are by the clothes. One Telegraph journalist asked the Biba founder why some of the items were too short for all but the very young. ‘That's because it's always men who run these companies, and men like having chicks around,' she answers in a whisper, apparently hoping Sir Philip isn't too near. ‘It's silly. The big sizes always sell out first. I find it very difficult to find clothes for myself.' So where does Barbara shop? ‘For 15 years she has worn little but, she whispers, Zara.' Oops, something tells us you shouldn't really confess to that so openly, Barbara. Still, at least she likes the Kate Moss for Topshop range. ‘Kate is good: she brings things along and is very knowledgeable.' [Telegraph]
