And the billionaire’s bride wore Balenciaga

27 April 2009

Oh to have a billionaire husband. One who owns such fashion brands as Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci and Stella McCartney. And can get you a custom-made Balenciaga wedding gown with the click of his fingers. So congratulations to Salma Hayek, who celebrated her second wedding to François-Henri Pinault in Venice this weekend with a star-studded ceremony (they were officially married in a registry office in France on Valentine's day). But though Salma got it so right with her classic but chic wedding dress, there were a few fashion mishaps amongst the guests. Charlize Theron's Christian Dior gown appeared to have halved in length halfway through the night and Anna Wintour recycled the Chanel couture gown she first wore two months ago to the Dolce & Gabbana Extreme Beauty Gala in Milan. Still, the rest of the Gucci and Stella McCartney gowns on display in the A-list crowd certainly gave the affair the fashion credentials it deserved...
