INSIDE the Prada Transformer!

22 April 2009

In case you haven't been glued to our Twitter, I've hot-footed it to Seoul in South Korea this week to check out the latest Prada project – The Transformer. Nope, it's not the latest must-have bag, but rather a 180-ton steel structure covered in white cocoon, which can be lifted and rotated in an hour to create a different shape and interior. The Transformer, which sits in the shadow of one of Seoul's oldest palaces, is currently sitting on the hexagon to stage a reprise of ‘Waist Down – Skirts by Miuccia Prada'. Over the next couple of weeks it will go on to host an art exhibition, film festival and a fashion show, morphing its appearance along the way. I'm beaming these pictures from there right now – ain't technology grand? – but even MORE exciting is that I met Mrs P last night. Teeny and gorgeous – wearing a double-layer belted black trench and headband – she gave me her tips on dressing for a recession. But you'll have to wait until Tuesday's issue of Grazia to read them. For now, I'll let you into a little secret: Pulp's Steve Mackey is set to DJ at the launch party tomorrow. I'll be tweeting throughout the night here in South Korea so stay tuned. And pictures first thing in the morning, too...
