On Friday we asked: what do Gareth Pugh and Mattel have in common? And of course, the answer was: Barbie's Ken. And Da Da Da... here he is! Yes, to celebrate the British leg of Barbie's 50th Birthday celebrations Barbie and Ken have had very British make-overs by designers Roksanda Ilincic, Danielle Scutt and Gareth Pugh. And we have them for your online delectation exclusively, right here and right now! On Friday we showed you how Gareth Pugh had posed his Ken, and now here he is in his full get-up of, complete with a black shock of goat hair as a Mohican. So what was Gareth thinking for his Ken? We asked him last week when we bumped into him at his rep Mandi Lennard's office discussing plans for his next menswear show in Paris. "I wanted my Ken to be outside the confines of what is acceptable. I wanted him to be contemporary. So I gave him a black PVC coat that is a scaled down version of one from my menswear collection. And some skinny black trousers." Well, we think Ken looks fabulous. Now all he needs to do is change his name! Ken was never a sexy moniker was it? We reckon he looks perfect with Roksanda Ilincic's Barbie. Danielle Scutt's Ragga-Girl Barbie, though, looks like she should be hanging with Amy Winehouse in St Lucia... As for us, we'll be at Dover Street Market in London for the launch party tomorrow night and tweeting furiously so you'll feel like you are too!
Fifty of each designer Barbie will be available while stocks last at £179.99 each.
