Thinking back to Russell Brand's past antics (that phone-call, that fancy-dress costume, that arrest for indecent exposure), it comes as no surprise that he joined the protestors on the march in the City yesterday. He was of course a quiet member of the protest – he can't risk another public beating after all – happily chatting away for the TV channels and posing for the cameras. In beanie and beard he certainly fitted in with the stereotype, and like some of the other demonstrators he tied a scarf over his face (not sure whether this was to hide from the TV cameras or autograph hunters), but this wasn't any old thread-worn scarf that has followed him from march to march. No no, his was a £135 Alexander McQueen skull scarf, which firmly crushed the hemp, hoodie and tie-dye cliché dressing. You can always count on a celebrity for a fashion moment under any circumstance!
