Paul Smith does British decadence

26 March 2009

It's press day mania in London this week, but we love going for the following three reasons... 1. Seeing gorgeous clothes up close and personal. 2. Escaping the office for a few hours and 3. Sweets! Well, at least this week's press days seem to have an abundance of sweeties, cakes and sticky treats. Paul Smith's showroom today was no exception, and on arrival at the giant regal show space complete with regency mirrors, chandeliers and swathes of fabric draped from the ceiling, we were met with mini-eggs, strawberries and, as expected, some truly decadent Brit fashion. As you will have seen from our backstage coverage at Paul's show during LFW, the A/W ’09 collection is a blend of English eccentricity and military, served with a splash of cerise pink. It's not easy to pick our top items for next season, but in the running are the smudgy Monet-like rose-print floral organza skirts and dresses (adore the matching sandals too), the khaki army trousers with pink piping, the gold frogging military jacket and the latest addition to Paul Smith stores – a selection of amazing vintage bangles. We don't like to wish our lives away, but we want A/W fashion, like, NOW! Check out the gallery below for more pics...
