Looks like Mr Valentino doesn't just rule the catwalks – he's the master of the big screen too. His much-publicised documentary Valentino: The Last Emperor only opened in New York last week but it's already grossed over £26,000, making it the highest-grossing documentary debut of 2009. It's also made stars of Valentino's six pug dogs, who so steal the show they've sparked a Most Fashionable Pug contest in New York! So does the big screen success in the Big Apple mean the film will finally get a release date here? (We've been bugging the press officers literally every day about this!) ‘Plans are definitely in the works to bring the movie to additional markets but specifics are still forthcoming.' Please! We promise not to spill our popcorn all over the seats! In the meantime here's a teaser clip. [WWD]
