The Convenience Store gets more convenient

When it comes to shopping in London, there are those who like adventure, and those who like to keep things simple. The Convenience Store in West London is a little bit of both, but as it sits below the famous Trellick Tower, it is a somewhat off the beaten track for lazier London shoppers. But with rails full of Gareth Pugh, Hannah Marshall, Rick Owens, Veronique Branquinho and Camilla Skovgaard, the journey is always worth it. Great news then, that for the next three weeks, the shop has upped roots and planted them in the Front Room of the gorgeous and opulent St Martins Lane Hotel, right in the centre of London. That is convenient! Store founder, Ander Ibi, explains the idea behind the pop-up shop: ‘The Convenience Store was designed using fluid ideas, an interior that moves, fittings that are barely there. To continue its development we wanted the shop to physically move out of the local environment. Like a city dweller, it should be able to take time out!' Indeed. Although with its very close proximity to Bungalow 8 (they are in the same hotel), spare a thought for those bar-goers who get overly excited after a glass of champagne or two, and awake the proud owners of Gareth Pugh's entire black and white collection....
