VIDEO: Diane Von Furstenberg dishes out love advice to Whitney Port!

God, we love The City. We're not even going to try to deny it. Whitney v Olivia. Rock-star boyfriend v annoyingly posh cousin of socialite. And, oh yeah, the fact that seriously successful New York designer Diane Von Furstenberg actually allowed these girls to work in her PR offices (despite the fact that the only work that seems to occur is over coffee or cocktails). And agree to be on screen! Still, we're wondering if DVF might be regretting this decision as we type. Let's analyse the latest episode to air in America (and leak on to YouTube). Whitney Port runs into Diane Von Furstenberg at a cocktail party thrown by the brand (see, we told you they liked their margaritas). But instead of Whitney – Diane's employee and supposed protégée, remember – doing some actual, you know, work and mingling with clients, she corners the designer and asks her for advice, no not on the fashion industry, but on her wayward love life. Oh, Whitters. Whatever will we do with you! Still, at least we get to hear this classic line from DVF, ‘My mother always used to say absence is to love what the wind is to fire.
