The Burberry check is back!

Brace yourselves, ladies – it's time to re-embrace the Burberry check! Yep, you read that right. The signature check, which has been in fashion wilderness for a while after becoming one of the most counterfeited designs in the world, is back with a vengeance judging by the recent Burberry shows. This season, the iconic red, black and camel check reappeared as part of both the menswear and womenswear collections, with oversized scarves and checked totes making their way down the runways. So what's the deal behind the fashion house's 180 degree change? ‘I sometimes describe Burberry as a beautiful diamond that was trodden into the ground a bit,' Christopher Bailey said of his ambition to re-establish the brand's signature as synonymous with his ‘dishevelled chic' aesthetic. ‘My role wasn't to find a new diamond but to clean the facets of it until it sparkled again.' Well, judging by what we saw in Milan Christopher, it's looking pretty damn shiny to us right now... [WWD]
