Ever since Anna Wintour adopted Adele as her new fashion protégée, we've been secretly fantasising about how their styling sessions might have gone. ‘Go on, Anna – get a hot dog down you,' we'd mused Adele might have scoffed. ‘I will when you learn how to walk in high heels,' we'd thought Anna might have bartered back. Well, thanks to Observer Music Monthly following Adele around we no longer have to imagine it. We know the truth – and it's better than our fantasies. First up, Adele's thoughts on the Barbara Tfank custom-made dress Anna Wintour commissioned for her to wear to the Grammys. ‘I would have done it in a jumper if Anna hadn't called me,' she hoots. ‘Anna! As if we're on that level! I hate fashion! I had to tell her I've got four bums...' We'd like to have seen Anna's face in response to that one. Bet it almost compared to Adele's when she first saw her shoes to go with the dress – ‘I can't walk in heels to save my life and Vogue picked these for me' – or the ‘Sexy Body (good rack)' sign that held the clothes for her US Vogue shoot. Still at least we know she got on well with photographer Annie Leibovitz, who asked Adele not to have her room cleaned for a whole week before the shoot, and Vogue's Hamish Bowles, who accompanied her to the awards. ‘Celebrated after the Grammys with an In and Out burger. One of the editors from Vogue was my date. We convinced him to have one too.' Oooh. What would Anna say?
