Morning round up: why the Louis Vuitton FROW was Kanye West-less, and toxic snow in Paris

13 March 2009

Marc Jacobs's pulling power has never been an issue with the fash-pack before, but at the Louis Vuitton show in Paris yesterday FROWer-du-season Kanye West was notably absent. And it turns out the reason he missed out on one of his favourite shows was his live performance on American Idol the night before. Hmmm, we wonder how Marc felt about playing second fiddle to Simon Cowell... [NY Mag]

Looks like John Galliano might be in a spot of bother too, after the fake snow that fell on his catwalk on Wednesday caused an impromptu front row asthma attack. Senior editors including Grace Coddington covered their mouths and noses as the toxic soap suds rained down. Let's hope it hasn't burned through the clothes... [Modelinia]

Meanwhile, we know Kate Moss has been partying it up in Paris, but ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack was left a little red faced when the champagne ran out at the party he hosted at Chanel. Ouch. [Independent]

And over Stateside, Jason Wu might still be going strong on the back of the First Lady's Inaugural dress choice (judging by Katie Holmes's outfit choice at the Tokyo premiere of Valkyrie this week), but demands are still flooding in for Aretha Franklin's hat. Is it bad that we kinda want one too now? [NY Times]
