Morning round-up: Anna Wintour leaves Paris Fashion Week, and a royal with fashion sense...

Anna Wintour

Looks like Anna Wintour's over Paris Fashion Week. Despite big shows last night – Chloé and John Galliano – and Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu to come today, the Editor in Chief of US Vogue flew home to New York yesterday. Maybe she's tired. Or maybe it's because she's supposedly broken her long-running feud with Peta. Front-rowers were shocked to see her shake hands with the VP of the animal rights group. Not as shocked as Anna will be to not be able to wear fur again.. [Twitter, Independent]

Katie Holmes's hair extensions clearly shocked us so much yesterday we forgot to even look at what she was wearing. Now we have, we've realised she's pipped Michelle Obama to the post and is first to wear new season Jason Wu – the designer the First Lady made instantly famous with her Inauguration gown. Rejoice! A Royal with great fashion sense! Zara Phillips donned some fierce black fringed shoe boots from Gwen Stefani's label L.A.M.B for the Cheltenham Festival races. [Mirror]

Been lying awake wondering about how and why Karl Lagerfeld conceived the maze for his Chanel set? Well, his explanation probably won't help. ‘I've seen the space in my head and girls confidently walking in the criss-cross directions,' he said. ‘All I had to do was add colours like the pinks and the greens.' And how did he get inside? ‘That I don't know and it's a strange thing. It happens to me often early in the mornings. I get into the middle of mazes and come out of completely nowhere!'
