We're used to US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour battling with French Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld for magazine circulations, front-row status and even the odd ‘who wore the new-season Prada dress best?' verdict. But now the grande dames of international publishing are engaging in new territory: who's got the biggest pulling power on television. Anna has been followed by cameras for documentary programme 60 Minutes for two months now, giving interviewer Morley Safer pride of place next to his subject on the front row, much to the chagrin of the fashion pack at the always-oversubscribed Balenciaga show. Meanwhile, never one to languish in the shadows – especially in her hometown fashion capital – Carine Roitfeld is the subject of a supposedly hard-hitting documentary for CNN too. She won't be tuning in – ‘I don't like watching myself' she said recently – but we can totally see Anna Sky+ing it and settling down with a G&T on her sofa to analyse it minute by minute. Not that that's what we'll be doing or anything...
