Milan Fashion Week's Front Row Watch

Milan Front Row

It's normally the Fashion Week dominated by big-time stars, but so far the Milan front row has been somewhat eerily quiet. (Well, other than intense chatter fixated around POP magazine's new editor-In-chief, Dasha Zhukova). Pixie Geldof hot-footed it from London to the Italian fashion capital this weekend to watch the Pringle show. Sweltering in a tiny, boiling hot venue wearing a Pringle chunky coatigan, the star of their current ad campaigns whooped as the collection came down the catwalk. No sign of any adverse effects from the rounds of cocktails we'd seen the young ‘It' Brit sipping at the Principe the night before then. Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson lent a touch of old-school glamour to D&G's theatrical catwalk performance. The face of the current beauty campaign, she told reporters, ‘Who doesn't want to look like the femme fatales from the forties and fifties?' We bet Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana agreed. Over at Cavalli, the celeb-starved photographers went crazy for a duo of Milla Jovovich, face of the Cavalli credit crunch, and Elizabeth Hurley, personal friend of Roberto Cavalli. Special note must go to Milla and Roberto's video showcasing the Cavalli credit card. She's getting ready in a hotel for a glamorous dinner out when Roberto swings by to pick her up in a sports car. ‘Are you ok baby?' he asks. ‘Yes, Roberto. I have everything I need,' Mila replies. Clearly including a front row seat! Perhaps Mila could have swapped modelling tips with Amber Le Bon. The up-coming model was enjoying but slightly overwhelmed by her first big Milan show, Moschino Cheap & Chic. She told us she loved guest-editing their online boutique and wants to take the chance to get involved in as many fashion projects as she can. ‘My mother is my mentor so I'm not rushing into any big catwalk action,' she told us.

Still, if the Milan FROWS have been quiet so far, judging by the crowd in the heaving Principe bar last night expect that to all change today. Kate Hudson and Eva Mendes are expected to appear at Dolce & Gabbana. David Beckham – and his entire entourage – has just hit town (sans wife though, as yet). Plus we caught Christopher Kane chatting with Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa, too. Ooh, the glamour! We'll let you know every movement right here...
