Domenico Dolce might know how to cut the perfect dress and what trends are in for spring, but it's good to see that in some ways he's still your average red-blooded male. The designer has revealed that he couldn't keep his eyes off actress Scarlett Johansson the first time he met her at the New York's Metropolitan Costume Gala. ‘I saw how free and spontaneous she actually is. I also immediately felt her sensuality, similar to that of a Mediterranean woman, and it instantly won me over,' he said today ahead of his D&G show in Milan. ‘I thought how incredible it would be to meet her away from the crowds and as a designer have the opportunity to take her measurements. We'd be able to send her our clothes designed and cut exactly to fit.' So that's what Dolce and Gabbana did later that day – turning up at her ‘chaotic' house, which resembled a real-life scene from a Woody Allen movie, to chat to the actress about her wardrobe. And it seems the admiration was mutual. Scarlett's fronting the new D&G beauty campaign and is expected to be front row at their show later today in Milan. What's the betting her outfit will have been hand-made and fitted by the D&G boys backstage? [Swide]
