Yes, we're proud the Brits stormed the Oscars too but come on this morning's really all about ogling the dresses! And it seems the A-list were divided last night into five key trends on the red carpet: bridals, sophisticates, individualists, new generation and brights. So it's time to be part of Grazia's You, The Fashion Jury ladies. Check out the pictures below and make your comment on your favourite dress, or who wore it best for Oscars 2009. The most positive, fashion-savvy comments could be printed in Grazia magazine next week.
PS - while you're here don't miss our minute-by-minute guide to the red carpet last night, twitter feed from LA and Kate Winslet making another acceptance speech!
Here come the... brides
- Sarah Jessica Parker in Dior couture
Leading the bride brigade ever the trendsetter SJP's cinched waist gown sure is a showstopper.
- Anne Hathaway in Armani Privé
Anne looked super-elegant and relaxed in her floor-length number.
-Marisa Tomei Atelier Versace
Marisa was very OTM in her one-shoulder gown...and that's some train!
-Penélope Cruz in vintage Balmain
Penelope looked sweaky clean in her traditional gown and up-do.
- Jessica Biel in Prada
Jessica Biel looked really modern in her draped detail dress with contrasting clutch.
- Jennifer Aniston in Valentino Couture
Jen sparkled in her simple jewelled gown....good call on the effortless tousled hair.
- Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab
Angelina looked totally effortless in her impeccably fitted dress and her green earrings were a great individual touch.
- Diane Lane in Dolce & Gabbana
Diane played it safe in her classic strapless dress, her red lipstick and short diamond necklace added a touch of old-school glamour.
- Kate Winslet in Yves Saint Laurent
Kate's sweeping one-shoulder gown was more traditional than her recent red-carpet frocks and super-flattering too.
- Tilda Swinton in Lanvin
Tilda always does her own thing and it's no exception on Oscar's night, she wore a blouse and top (separates!) from Lanvin's Pre-fall ready-to-wear collection.
- Beyoncé Knowles in House of Deréon
Beyoncé looked super-glamorous in her floral black and gold gown....the only one to brave a print!
- Marion Cotillard in Dior Couture
A similar frock to SJP's but in black and blue with matching accessories, Marion is as ever a red-carpet risk taker.
- Heidi Klum in RM by Roland Mouret
Lady in red, Heidi's red-carpet choices are always hard to predict. This angular asymmetric number is no exception.
The new generation
- Miley Cyrus in Zuhair Murad
Miley's unusual gown was very grown-up for the Oscars newbie.
- Vanessa Hudgens in Marchesa
Vanessa looked a little beyond her years in her gown by uber fashionable Marchesa.
- Amanda Seyfried in Valentino
Mamma Mia! Check out the size of Amanda's bow! Love the matching red lippy.
- Freida Pinto in John Galliano
Girl-of-the-moment Freida lit up the red carpet in her dazzling blue gown.
- Natalie Portman in Rodarte
Natalie looked pretty in pink in her red-carpet favourite Rodarte....the perfect colour for her.
- Amy Adams in Carolina Herrera
Amy's got it sussed; her red dress and green jewel necklace were just right for her hair colour and skin tone.
