Brit models make a beeline for Lacoste

Lacoste AW 09
The Lacoste A/W '09 show in New York last week might have been all about grown-up chic – ladylike pencil skirts and a muted colour palette – but in London it looks like the girls all still want fluoro. Brit ‘It' models/girls about town Daisy Lowe, Ben Grimes, Portia Freeman, Amber Le Bon, Lily Collins and Pixie Geldof dropped by Claridges yesterday to see the Lacoste trunk show – and get in a spot of shopping. The most popular pieces amongst the crowd were the geometric print cardigan and the fluoro pink polo-shirt. Well, other than for Pixie – she refused to try on anything that wasn't black. In between cocktails and in the heaving changing rooms, we got the scoop on who's doing what this London Fashion Week. The biggest trend is that it looks like we can expect to see many of their faces on the catwalk. Amber Le Bon and Phil's daughter Lily confessed they'd been to loads of castings already, and the rumour going around was that Alice Dellal might be walking for Luella on Monday or Vivienne Westwood tonight. We'll be watching and, if it happens, we'll be reporting it first right here... Mind you, as we left the Claridges suite, a full-blown party was about to kick off with all the Brit kids dancing around to Lacoste's bright, young, fun collection. So we think they'll be some bleary eyes this morning, somehow...
