Phoebe Philo speaks out about her first collection

After departing from an enormously successful stint at Chloé three years ago, it's been a while since we've seen or heard from fashion heavyweight Phoebe Philo. And now she's back with a vengeance. Having taken up the creative helm at Celine, Phoebe's eagerly anticipated debut is set to be unveiled in June with her Cruise and pre-Spring collections for the LVMH label, and she can't wait: 'I want it to be less about fashion and trend, and to do something more about pieces and style... There's going to be a big emphasis on trousers and jackets and blouses, and pieces that mix together.' Ever the trendsetter, Philo has also decided to move the Celine offices to London, saying it is the homeliness and hubbub of creativity that inspires her. Philo will be responsible for rejuvenating the 64-year-old French brand alongside new CEO Marco Gobbetti, but she's already excited about her first runway collection in October of this year: 'I feel very strongly that we've got something very interesting to show.' We don't doubt it Phoebe, we don't doubt it... [WWD]
