Lily Cole: is there anything this girl can't do?

One of Britain's most successful models, a Cambridge student AND a brilliant actress... yep, Lily Cole really does seem to have it all. And, far from being a primadonna with all that talent, it seems that Lily is actually a dream to work with – damn her! According to Terry Gilliam, the director of her latest film The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus, Lily took working with some of the biggest actors on the planet totally in her stride. ‘It could have gone really wrong putting Lily with Heath Ledger, and then Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell after Heath passed away – but it didn't. She totally held her own against them, it worked amazingly well – she's incredibly mature and self-assured,' Terry revealed at last night's BAFTAs. But he wasn't always so sure he'd done the right thing casting such a green actress for the role: ‘Of course it was a gamble casting Lily – it always is when you cast someone so inexperienced, and I was pleasantly surprised when she pulled it off!' We can't wait to see the finished product when it hits cinemas in June.
