Vivienne and Pamela's campaign love in!

02 February 2009

It's official. Never EVER have we been quite so thrilled and intrigued by a designer's new muse (including VB for Marc Jacobs btw) than when we heard that Pamela Anderson was to star in the S/S '09 Vivienne Westwood campaign. And, yes, we are in all seriousness referring to the blossoming relationship between a 67-year-old fashion designer and Baywatch's resident double Ds. Apparently Viv was so taken with Pammy when they met at Vivienne's S/S '09 show in London last year that she immediately pitched the idea to the Playboy model, but the busty blonde has since been more than a little forthcoming: ‘Yesterday, I was considered soft porn, but today I am art'. OK then. Vivienne has also spoken out about the campaign, shot by Juergen Teller, explaining that there's more to Pam than meets the eye: 'Pamela is very intelligent. She is somebody I can talk to. I don't have to draw her a map. She understands.' Pammy has just finished two worthier-than-worthy books: The Gods Will Have Blood by Anatole France and The Road by Cormac McCarthy. We always knew that there was more than just boobs to Pamela. She herself is gushing in her appreciation of the British designer (she admits to a signed picture next to her bed), but even though this is our idea of fashion heaven, we're not sure how long the love affair will last after Pammy said: 'It was one of my top 10 moments... But I've had maybe 20 top 10 moments.' Nice one Pammy. Real nice... [Times]
