Yves Saint Laurent not only had an exquisite eye for fashion, he also had one for art. Over 50 years, Yves and his partner, Pierre Bergé, built up one of the most revered art collections in the world. The highly sought after library includes three Mondrians, a Picasso, a Cézanne, an early Matisse cut-out, three Légers, several Géricaults and lots of their collection of Jean-Michel Frank Art Deco furniture. Before the pieces are auctioned at the Grand Palais in Paris next month, highlights of the sale are on display to the public at Christie's showroom in St James's, London. It may be your only chance to view these magnificant works of art, as who knows which enthusiastic collectors will be lucky enough to take them into their personal collections. The proceeds are expected to reach £270 million, which is expected to go towards research charities.
