Two weeks ago, Grazia brought to your attention a pair of jeans in our distressed denim special story that were so luxe, so glam and so sought after that they already had a major waiting list at Harvey Nichols. OK, so far no surprises. After all, waiting lists for fashion favourites aren't out of the ordinary. But when a pair of ripped-up jeans from OTM label Balmain, which cost anything from £1,000 to approximately £2,000, are apparently flying off the shelves, it's time to pay attention. Both Browns and Joseph have reported a near sell-out for these rock chick pieces of denim. We called them this morning to find out the up-to-the-minute status. Joseph have only two pairs left (but will be buying in more alternative Balmain styles soon), while Browns are down to a few pairs of the black biker jeans but are also adding more styles soon, including a pair of the mega-expensive bejewelled jeans and a drop of the bleached ripped numbers before London Fashion Week. Wow, that's quite a mega-bucks denim obsession. We'd certainly like to meet those women with a couple of thousand pounds spare to splash out on Christophe Decarnin's creations... Take pity and lend them to us please. Just once.
