Savannah Miller spills on first LFW show

26 January 2009

We've just dropped into Savannah Miller's Edgware Road office to catch up with the designer as she makes her early preparations for the first Twenty8Twelve show at London Fashion Week next month. Her sister and one-half of the label was hot-footing it out of there in a box-fresh pair of Stephen Sprouse for Louis Vuitton boots (jealous) as Savannah and I sat down to chat. With reggae music blasting out and models running around semi-clad there was a mood of general hilarity. ‘We're so excited about our first runway show,' she told us. ‘It's the way we want to go and the way we want to grow.' So what's the vibe? Well it's all about fun clothes girls would really love wearing (makes sense considering that's the Miller sisters all over). They've been inspired by Victorian-style highwaymen – think Dick Turpin – as well as Grace Jones, so there's a lot of shoulder pads going on. And take note: ex-iD stylist and new LOVE Fashion Director Fran Burns will be styling the show. We're predicting great things...
