Introducing the new ‘It' scarf

22 January 2009

Forget the 'It' bag. The battle of the 'It' scarf is far more fierce. First we had the LV scarf by Stephen Sprouse – you know, the leopard-print one that every single A-lister and fashionista wore about three years ago (and still continues to wrap around their – or their boyfriend's – neck). Then we had the Murakami-designed 'Monogramouflage' camo-print scarf, which briefly threatened to usurp the leopard print's status, but never quite delivered. Well, now we have a new contender. Hallelujah! Thanks to the new Stephen Sprouse/Vuitton collection, which arrived at LV stores just last Saturday, there is yet another scarf for us to fall in love with. It's rose-print. It's frankly delicious. And we're expecting to see this pop up around the necks of all the most fashionable folk in the next couple of weeks. But if you want to get in on the trend, you'd better get down to an LV store near you double quick. Most of the new Stephen Sprouse collection sold out in three days flat. We blame obsessive Sprouse fans such as London's most up-with-it PR, Mandi Lennard, who bought up half the stock on Saturday. ‘I've got green sunglasses, a green scarf, an enamel green badge and a pink gym set,' she tells us, inciting near immediate envy throughout the Grazia office. Because when we called to find out if there were any LV Speedy bags with graffiti on them left, we were told the first delivery had sold out. Eek! But heads up, the second drop is due any day now. Race ya there...
