Morning round-up: Michelle Obama might wear Thakoon today...

20 January 2009

She might have stuck with Narciso Rodriguez so far but what will Michelle Obama bring out for today's Inauguration. Here's what we know so far: it'll be an American designer, the colour palette's already been decided (the family always stick to a theme), she's narrowed her evening choices to three and she's purchased a Thakoon coat and dress potentially for the day's ceremony. Only six hours to go until we know... [WWD]

Her husband's already got his outfit nailed, though. Barack has chosen to wear an ordinary suit rather than the traditional top hat and tails at today's Inauguration. [The Sun]

Here's another husband of a fashion big-hitter fooling around. Dame Vivienne Westwood's husband Andreas took to the catwalk at her menswear show in Milan dressed as his wife. And in a wheelbarrow. As you do. [Fab Sugar]

Things are less cheery in fash-land between Giorgio Armani and Dolce and Gabanna. The former's accused the Italian duo of copying his menswear quilted trousers. Yep, coming to a man near you soon... [The Guardian]

Boys, take note from the oh-so-polite Jasmine Guinness. Despite Sir Stuart Rose not following through on plans for Jasmine's range of hosiery for M&S, she has no bad feelings for the high street store: ‘Even if I only got free pants and bras, I think it would still be the best job.' [The Independent]
