Rachel Zoe explains Kate & Anne's Bride Wars outfits

07 January 2009

If Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson's kinda creepy Bride and Groom red carpet outfits were keeping you awake last night, you'll appreciate this explanation from Rachel Zoe. The stylist of size zero fame is dressing the pair for their promotional tour of Bride Wars, a movie about two former best friends scheming to ruin the other's wedding. ‘Kate has this idea in her head. She wanted to play off the whole bridal theme of the movie and do full-on and do something over the top,' Rachel says of Kate Hudson's Oscar de la Renta S/S '09 white and jet beaded gown. ‘It had the drama of a bridal gown but wasn't totally bridal.' And what about the back-story behind Anne Hathaway's Band of Outsiders black tuxedo. ‘It was Annie's idea to do a tuxedo and my initial reaction was that they were going to look like a bride and groom... and she liked that.' Because every girl dreams of resembling the plastic figurines that sit atop a wedding cake. Of course. [WWD]
