Hot label alert: Band of Outsiders

default

Bride Wars fever is in full sch-wing in the Grazia office - and that's before we even consider actually seeing the film. Right now, the Kate Hudson vs Anne Hathaway fashion-face-off is all that concerns us - and whatever opinion you may hold regarding the Bride and Groom get up Rachel Zoe concocted for the duo's premiere in New York (trust us, we've had sleepless nights over the idea and that Hathway hairpiece) hearing who made Anne's pant suit made us see it in a whole new light, and possibly kicks off Kate's Oscar de la Renta gown to the ground...Fashion brownie points are awarded to her black tuxedo and slim trousers because they hail from super-trendy, up and coming American label Band of Outsiders. Designed by CFDA/Vogue nominee Scott Sternberg, the contradictorily named ‘Boy' range which stems from the original menswear line (David Beckham and Penn Badgley are part of the fanclub) is actually for girls who want to go for a preppy schoolboy turned mussed up femme fatale look. It's the second season for Boy and SS09 highlights include laid back tailoring in the form of a million and one jackets - from rockabilly tuxedos to slouchy double breasted power dressing, plus a cute denim shorts suit and crumpled up shirting mini dresses that look all back to front. Plus, as if these wear-forever items weren't covetable enough, guess who's modelling them? Only the queen of scruffy-chic - Kirstin Dunst, styled up with the obligatory Wayfarers. Ding! Ding! Who's ready for the next round of Outfit Wars?
