Failsafe your LBD….

We all know party dressing doesn't get much easier than slipping on a LBD. After all you've probably got one (or two or three) gathering dust in your wardrobe already. Making it zing season after season is a little bit harder though. So allow us to introduce Grazia's top five failsafe formulas that'll transform an old black number into a serious party stunner!

The Kate Moss: One of Kate's all time top garments is the shaggy jacket and with this season's mongolian lambswool hug-in-a-mug styles bounding around you'll be sure the find the perfect fit. Team with black shoe boots and thick tights for a rock chic vibe. Works best with a floaty short black dress underneath.

The Reese Witherspoon: Trust Reese to do ladylike to perfection. Keeping things simple with a strapless black number, gold scooping necklace, gold clutch and cute bandals (that's boot-sandals in Grazia-speak). Black and gold are a dead cert for a hot look.

The Olsen: The Olsen twins have ditched their boho image and gone for a sleeker look. There's no place better to chanel this than with a slick LBD. With pointy Balenciaga heels, long line tux jacket and statement chandelier earrings - this is grown up but still edgy. Chandelier earrings will instantly lift your whole look too.

The Claudia Schiffer: Claudia hugs all those curves in a Roland Mouret number but when you are covering up a bit more you can afford to experiment with your makeup. A pop of red lippy oozes instant sex appeal. Throw in an embellished minature bag (note: a long chain looks more of-the-moment than a clutch plus you can actually carry it around the dance floor) and some classic court shoes and you've got yourself a classy LBD combo.

The Sienna Miller: Sienna always loves to mix things up a little, teaming her Louis Vuitton quirky sequinned LBD with jet drop earrings, this season's must-have the 70 denier tights (great if you want to go for a mini but aren't feeling brave) and some satin peep toe slingbacks. Picking out different fabrics in black is a really great way to add an extra level to your outfit.
