Fashion East’s 2009 female trio

We may still have a Christmas dinner to get through, a New Year to celebrate, and a whole month of laying low after festive exploits, but we have the first tingles of fashion week excitement. The London schedule landed a couple of weeks ago, then we announced Topshop's New Generation designers, and now Fashion East have revealed their February 2009 line-up.

Natascha Stolle is appearing for the second time at Fashion East, and is joined by catwalk newbies Maria Francesca Pepe and Holly Fulton. Natascha's SS09 porcelain alligator tiled jumpers and accessories are much loved by buyers and fashion forward thinkers - model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is already a fan.  Maria, who we have loved for ages, is another Central Saint Martins MA graduate, who has built a phenomenal reputation for her phenomenal accessories, but now that she is adding a full ready-to-wear line we can't wait to see if they have as much attitude as her hard, punky jewellery. Finally there is Holly, who silenced the audience at her Royal College of Art show with her breathtaking ‘wearable mosaics'.

Fashion East director, the lovely Lulu Kennedy, is delighted by her all girl line-up.  "I love the way all three girl's work is so unashamedly full on, decorative and sensual but in a very modern way," she exclusively told Graziadaily. "The materials they use are not traditionally feminine - oversize plastic pailettes, chainmail, metal flexitube, porcelain tiles...its sounds like stuff you'd buy at the hardware store - but the end results are startlingly beautiful and the fierceness of the garments accentuate your feminity."

After launching the careers of Gareth Pugh, Henry Holland and Roksanda Illincic, it looks like Fashion East have just found three more fashion stars.
