Welcome to the virtual world of Temperley London

19 December 2008

If you've always longed to watch a fashion show from the comfort of your sofa (and let's face it, with hour long delays and seven inch heels to battle who hasn't?) you've got a reason to be glad about the credit crunch. After 12 seasons on the catwalk, Temperley London have cancelled their February New York Fashion Week show and are taking their catwalk into the virtual world instead. Temperley will present video installations to the press and buyers first and then the film will be available on YouTube - and GraziaDaily, of course. And Temperley's not the only label to opt out of a traditional catwalk this year. Vera Wang and Betsey Johnson won't be putting on their usual extravaganzas in New York this season either. So could this be the end of catwalk shows as we know it? Doubtful. But we're not going to complain about some designers bringing their collections straight into the comfort of our own homes...
