Even Karl Lagerfeld's feeling the credit crunch

default

Karl Lagerfeld might have started making his own coins but turns out that doesn't mean he's not feeling the credit crunch. ‘I have moved to a smaller house in Paris and I don't fancy having so much staff now,' he revealed to a German magazine this weekend. And that's not the only way the designer's downsizing. His new holiday home in Vermont is ‘very Emily Dickinson. In fact it's almost Puritanical. For me it's a new form of modesty.' Still, this being Karl there are some sacrifices that can't be made. ‘The chambermaid, chauffeur and chef are still musts,' he said. Well you'll be glad to hear Karl that we feel a similar way about the new upended 2.55 Chanel bags...  [Spiegel]
