We've gone gaga over the Barbour!

default

During this summer's festival season Grazia gave you the hot tip that the classic Barbour jacket (HRH Queen Elizabeth's favourite no less) was set to be the height of cool. After all, Alexa Chung pretty much singlehandedly revamped its musty Sloane image into indie-gal-about-town. She's usually spotted in the men's style navy or green ‘Bedale' - but in a super small size - and the men's 'Beaufort' is also very popular for female fashionistas too. But even we hadn't realised quite how popular the Barbour would prove to be because get this: in the last week alone Selfridges have shifted literally tens of thousands of pounds worth of Barbours. So it's clearly a credit-crunch busting buy. PS: Our favourite Barbour is the re-released 1920s trench coat ‘Valerie' (which Agy and Albert have matching versions of!).
